2. Support Packages / Mentoring
A minimum of 2 hours initial contact to include: initial engagement meeting, assessment and development of personal intervention plan for client. Developing Smart goals and follow up sessions as appropriate. 1:1 practitioner support for parents and young people. This may include: advocacy, mentoring, intervention and engagement exercises.
3. Transition Workshops – Parents and children
A series of sessions of up to 1½ hour in 6 weeks blocks. 2 practitioners facilitating groups of up to 15 parent only; or 30 children only. 20 parent and child together sessions (year 6).
3.1 Parents transition groups:
- Aimed at parents with children transferring to primary and secondary school
Sessions will cover a series of needs led topics to include: Preparing for a new school, Top tips, The curriculum, how to keep abreast of a changing situation, what to do if you have concerns, the language and routines of school, how to help at home, developing a positive triangle relationship School, Parent and Child. Being proactive in your child’s education, appropriately.
3.2 Year 6 Transition groups:- Aimed at Year 6 Children
Sessions will cover: Goodbye, A fresh start, A day in my new school, Top tips to making friends, Fitting in, Bullying, Keeping on top of my school work, Getting the most out of secondary school, Expectations and Aspirations. Sessions are interactive and involve debates, role play, question and answer, mind mapping and creative exercises.
4. Delivery of Information and Guidance Sessions Based on ½ day
Preparation and delivery of information sessions. Production of slides and handouts for workshops that are relevant to the target audience. Question and answer sessions, limited 1:1 and group sessions. 5. Programme Development Based on 1 day
Development of one off bespoke training and workshop sessions. To include delivery of session, production of presentations and handouts. Based on groups of up to 20 adults or 12 young people.
